Dionaea muscipula | Tc plant

Dionaea muscipula, or the Venus flytrap, is a carnivorous flowering plant famous for its ability to catch and digest insects and other small arthropods. It belongs to the sundew family, Droseraceae, and is native to a small region of the coastal plains of North and South Carolina in the United States.

📏 Appearance

• The plant forms a rosette of leaves growing close to the ground, typically up to around 10–20 cm across.

• Each leaf ends in a specialized trap made of two hinged lobes.

• The inner surfaces of the trap are often reddish and lined with stiff, comb-like bristles that interlock when closed.

• Tiny trigger hairs on the inner surface cause the trap to snap shut when touched repeatedly by prey.

• In spring and summer the plant may produce white flowers on tall stalks above the traps.

🪲 Carnivorous Behavior

The traps are modified leaves that actively close when small insects or spiders touch the trigger hairs — an adaptation to nutrient-poor bog soils where the plant grows. Once the prey is trapped, the plant secretes digestive enzymes to break down the animal and absorb nutrients such as nitrogen.

🌍 Habitat & Conservation

Venus flytraps are specially adapted to wet, acidic environments like bogs and wet savannahs. They are listed as vulnerable due to habitat loss and over-collection in the wild, and conservation efforts are important to protect natural populations

Within the Qassim region:
We provide you with delivery service within 24 hours for 25 riyals for orders worth less than 300 riyals. Free for any order above that.

Outside the Qassim region:
* Shipping is made to any location within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within 2 to 5 working days with Aramex
*The shipping cost is calculated as follows:
Shipping weight from 1 to 30 kg for 25 riyals. For every additional kilogram, 1 riyal.
Orders exceeding 300 riyals will be shipped for free, up to 15 kg. + 1 riyal for each additional kilogram.

Once we have dispatched your order you will receive a shipping email confirmation, so you know your order is on its way. The shipping email will contain all shipping information so you can keep tracking your order.

Also, you can track your shipping on our website using the tracking reference number. If no one’s at home and we are unable to deliver your item, you will be left a calling card and you will be able to arrange re-delivery.

Standard Delivery Service in KSA

All orders purchased before 1 pm Sunday to Thursday will be collected on the same day as per our standard delivery service and they will be dispatched and delivered to you within 2-3 days.

Next-Day Delivery Service in KSA

All orders purchased before 1 pm Sunday to Thursday will be dispatched by our delivery partner which aims to deliver the next working day. *Please note items purchased after 1 pm Thursday on our ‘Next Day Delivery Service’ will be shipped Friday for delivery on Monday. Any items purchased after 1 pm Friday will be shipped Monday for delivery on Tuesday. We do not offer next-day service on weekends. 

Bank Holiday Deliveries & Public Holidays

Aquarium and our delivery partners do not operate during Bank Holidays or any other Public Holidays. We are unable to dispatch or deliver items purchased during this period. We ask you to allow extra time for delivery when placing your order around Bank Holidays and other Public Holidays. Our normal services resume the next working day. Important Notice: Bank Holidays and any other Public Holidays will override any express service you have paid for during checkout. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
